University of Wisconsin-Madison - BS, Economics , Pepperdine University - MBA, Executive
I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned my B.S. in Economics. I also attended Pepperdine University, where I got an Executive Master of Business Administration degree. I've taught adults for upwards of 20 years in higher education settings. My main areas of expertise are Marketing, Economics, and Strategic Planning. Specifically, I've taught Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, Business, and Marketing. In this work, I've acted as a mentor to those I teach, helping students to make sense of economics, a field that can be puzzling with all its theories and inner-workings. I most enjoy teaching Economics, in that all other areas of business connect back to it in some way or another. I find it important to help students relate to the subject matter I'm teaching, and I therefore push students to connect the theories we're working with to their life and decision-making. Academics needs to be personalized in order for complex concepts to be useful to students. In this way, my teaching style is very personable and based in interaction. I like to have conversations with students in class, so that, through discussion, students grasp the real-life applications of the often lofty structures of economics and business. Outside of teaching and work, I enjoy classical music and classic automobiles.
